Reviews: Why Didge Mama Musical Performances Leave Audiences Speechless
The impressive aspect of Lisa is that even if she teaches ten or fifteen people, you still feel like she gives each person individual attention and senses what is needed. I find this really impressive. And that, I truly consider this as her specialty.
With no history of musical training, I started my didgeridoo lessons with Elisabeth in my 50s. Now I am in my third year with her. As a difficult student, I can attest to how patient she is! I also benefit from her being highly empathic, and the warm learning atmosphere she creates. Her passion for the instrument is infectious, and her skill as a musician is inspiring. Amongst other things, she is helping me discover and develop my own style. I feel privileged to study with this didgeridoo pioneer.
I had the incredible luck to find Elisabeth on my way, and to have a couple of group didge lessons with her. First of all, I loved the philosophy behind her way of playing & teaching which is very inspiring! And about her method, in a few words she made us understand what we had to try to do, this made it very simple to reach it! After the lessons we spent some time together, playing so I had the chance to hear all the sounds she can make with her didge, with her harmonic singing, unbelievable!
And I am a little tired, because it was an intens day. With a lot of learning, and nice learning. Furthermore at a truly magnificent place, So I am very happy to have been here today.
So you will go come home satisfied? For sure I am going home satisfied. And more acomplished at playing this instrument
But, what I’m mostly happy about is, that I again was able to practice well the Circulair Breathing from a state of relaxation. Because I find it beautiful that it can happen in this manner.
Yes, Elisabeth is really good at seeing where things go wrong. When you don’t have the right breathing, when you make an inhale instead of an exhale. Or when your voice doesn’t get enough expression, when you want to make sounds with it. So it was really good to dot the i’s and cross the t’s
I have been learning to play the Didgeridoo with Elisabeth Beijerinck for well over a year now. I started with zero knowledge and by now I am already able to play as I could never believe I will be able to.
Elisabeth is a masterful and enthusiastic teacher who knows her Didgeridoo. In my experience over many years, I was always searching for teachers that are not only knowledgable but also know how to instil in their students the love for what they teach. This is definitely how Elisabeth is teaching. Love is integral to it and this is indispensable.
Last but not least, I find Elisabeth to be charming and easygoing which makes communicating with her and the whole learning experience always flowing and enjoyable.
I started playing the Didgeridoo 5 weeks ago. So I really wanted to learn Circulair Breathing. To get more a feeling of ‘Oh Yes, aha’. And what I really appreciated is the way Liesbeth demonstrated the breathing technique with ‘huuuuuu’. Where you naturally breathe without doing anything. I found that to be a truly remarkable experience, and it succeeded.
The highlight of this festival for me happened on Saturday night (6th Aug), as I was sat in the audience listening to all the lovely didge acts that were going on, and upon when it was to be the turn of 3ple-D from the Netherlands to take the stage, and what a stage performance it was…!!! Wow…!!!
Absolutely fantastically brilliant, didge playing with a modern difference. So vibrant, alive and with lots of energy with great rhythm, made one want to dance to the wonderful sounds that 3ple-D was producing. The combination components of 3ple-D, consisting of Michiel Teijgeler, Elisabeth Beijerinck & Terence Samson, complimenting each other beautifully
They made my evening/festival I hope they will return as I will be there as a No. 1 English fan. Best Wishes to 3ple-D in all your future together.
I was very impressed with the female of the group; Elisabeth, she can play as good as any male, and why not? More women should take up & learn the didge. Total admiration & respect for Elisabeth. 3ple-D’s awe-inspiring performance was totally professional in every way and very selfishly I did not want them to stop.
